Venue and local area
The Dell is a real gem, set in an absolutely stunning location surrounded by the Cairngorm Mountains. The atmosphere there is so calm and relaxing you may forget stress even exists! It’s the perfect place to switch off and take some time out for yourself. Accommodation is so specious, spreading over two adjoining cottages, multiple living spaces, communal dining and a beautiful dual aspect second floor studio with open fire and views to the Cairngorms.
Who is Finlay Wilson?
Kilted Yoga has launched Finlay and his practice into the spotlight with over 100 million worldwide views of his videos from the original Kilted Yoga video on BBC The Social to campaigns with companies and other Kilted friends. Kilted Yoga was released as a book in October 2017 and has been attracting people’s attention to yoga, Scotland and a healthier way of being and thinking.
Finlay is a certified Forrest Yoga teacher, Forrest Yoga Guardian-in-training and Senior Yoga Alliance teacher. Currently, he is based in Dundee and is the co-founder and principal teacher of Heart Space Yoga & Bodyworks. He began yoga in 2007 following surgical procedures on both legs and used Yoga for my rehabilitation. As well as his weekly classes, he also leads classes all over the world, posts classes online at Mat2Mat and Youtube, hosts online courses on Tint Yoga, presents at yoga conferences and performs asana demonstrations at events and fundraisers. He is really passionate about working with children and young people and the Young Yogis Project, has been his passion project for the last 5 years, bringing free Yoga to toddlers, children, teenagers and young people with special needs and disability in Dundee.

Yummy, nutritious food will be prepared by The Dell. Polly who is the principal chef, specializes in nutritional, un-processed and delicious food with ingredients sourced from the local area; wild venison from the forest and vegetables from the garden, village and nearby farms.

How to get there?
A month prior the retreat you will get access to a Facebook group where we are going to put you all in touch so no-one travels alone.

Closest airport is the Inverness airport (55min drive to the retreat venue). Second best option is either Edinburgh (2h 30min) or even Dundee (2h 30min). Edinburgh airport is bigger and you will get more budget airlines flying there.
If you are hiring a car you could potentially save by flying with Ryanair or Easy Jet to Edinburgh and then driving up. The drive up is really scenic and you could stop at the House of Bruar for food and maybe a waterfall walk. We would also recommend stopping at the Blair Castle.
The nearest station is Aviemore (30min drive to the retreat). We will hopefully have a group of clients traveling by car so we could put you all in touch to arrange a lift.

I HAVEN’T DONE MUCH YOGA BEFORE, CAN I COME?
We have designed this retreat for people who love yoga, whether they are beginners or have been practicing for years. Regardless of your experience we will adapt the classes to what feels confortable for you. Our ethos is open and friendly and we set up our business to spread yoga to people who perhaps wouldn’t have gone on a yoga retreat before. So don’t be shy, there is no time like the present to start your journey with yoga.
I AM QUITE AN EXPERIENCED YOGI, WOULD I ENJOY YOUR RETREATS?
Yes! All our retreats and holidays are suitable for those who have done little or lots of yoga. Retreats are so small and so unique we have the time and the space to always make sure that every single person in the group has their needs and expectations met over the time they are with us.
CAN I PAY DEPOSIT AND STILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR AN EARLY BIRD OPTION?
Unfortunately, you can only take the advandage of our early bird option if you pay in full.
DO I NEED INSURANCE?
We have our own teacher's insurance and we are not planning any extreme sports, however, we require you to consider taking out your own insurance in case you have an accident whilst away, especially on your way to our retreat.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RETREAT AND A HOLIDAY?
Our yoga retreats & wellbeing weekends are designed to be more relaxing and less adrenaline fuelled. They restore mental and physical health and leave you feeling invigorated in body and spirit. They are a perfect quick fix and escape from your busy life.
CAN I CANCEL MY RESERVATION?
Unfortunately, once booked you won’t be able to cancel your booking however if you find someone who would like to take up your place we are happy to transfer the booking over to your friend (minus any expenses incurred by us). Remember that in order to take advantage of the early bird prices you must pay in full.
CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT
Check in will start at 4pm on Saturday and we will check out after breakfast on Tuesday (at around 10am)
DO I NEED SPENDING MONEY
Not really unless you have extra things planned outside the retreat. All food and wine will be provided. You just need to arrive and relax!
IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION?
Yes, to participate you must be at least 18
